Don't Just be informed. Be trauma-informed.

about us

The El Paso Child Guidance Center, with funding through the Paso del Norte Health Foundation, established the West Texas Trauma Informed Care Consortium (WTTICC).

What is trauma informed care(TIC)?

Trauma-informed care shifts the focus from “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?” A trauma-informed approach to care acknowledges that health care organizations and care teams need to have a complete picture of a patient’s life situation — past and — in order to provide effective health care services with a healing orientation.

how to become a
TIC Certified business/
organization

There are many ways to become a trauma-informed organization and the process does not have to be a burden to adopt. Any organization, business, any size and in any sector can become TIC certified.

Training for all

One of the key components of continued trauma informed care is professional development and self enrichment. WTTICC is committed to providing quality training to professionals, staff, parents/caregivers as well as youth in the area as mental health and well-being.
